Craig S. Smith
Craig Smith grew up in Anaheim Hills, California and now resides in Slocomb, Alabama with his wife Julie. Craig has 2 children, Josh and Jenna as well as 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Jocelyn, Paisley and Emma. Growing up he enjoyed photography and shooting with his father and grandfather. His grandfather had his own darkroom and they would spend hours in it developing and producing images from the film era. While attending high school at Canyon, he took classes in photography and learned from one of his favorite teachers, Mr. Leal. Craig was very much inspired by his work ethic and creativeness that photography became part of his life.
Craig then moved onto college to study photography at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. After college Craig had a calling to serve his country so he joined the United States Army and proudly served 8 years with an honorable discharge. Soon after he served his country, he decided to go back to school so he attended the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.
Throughout the years photography came and went but eventually it found its way back into Craig’s life and he has never looked back. Just the idea that we can capture moments in time and take that gift to help others has always driven Craig.
Craig loves freelance photography but also specializes in baby, toddler, and family portraits. But his biggest love is themed photography. He loves the creativeness that themed photography brings and it pushes one to think outside the box.
Craig is also the founder and co - leader of the Wiregrass Photography Club based out of Dothan, AL. The Wiregrass Photography Club was built for photographers to learn, practice, network and perfect their craft.
